Good idea, spirit level fit is too loose,
This is a simple devices, the black frame is rubber and the bubble spirit level just friction fits into the rubber part. The opening isn’t quite snug enough and it’s too easy to push the spirit level out. I’m sure the two pieces would part company over time. It’s a good idea that needs some minor improvement.
Keep in mind that you have to use this kind of spirit level looking down on it, so unlike side view clear hotshoe levels, you’ll need to set up your camera below eye level or stand on something to get an accurate read.

|Low profile full time level…,
I disagree with the claim that the level is a loose fit in the rubber surround. It is trapped in a way that prevents the clear level portion from parting with the rubber ** when the unit is mounted on the camera properly **.
This is a handy level to use when the large cube-style ones would get in the way or interfere with other accessories.
My only complaint is that it’s very small and consequently easy to misplace (I lost one already) if you remove it to install another accessory (flash?). It can also be hard to use if your tripod is set high and therefore makes an overhead view of the level difficult. Still, I found this item worthwhile enough to order a replacement for my misplaced one, and consider it a key piece of my gear.

|Great product… if you can hold onto it.,
This is a great product. I just can’t hold onto it long… I lost it 3x! I won’t rate it low cause it comes off my camera and gets lost as there is something you can do about that. If you use it on your tripod it allows you to level the camera. It also protects the hot shoe so that it won’t get caught on something and get damaged, encrusted with dirt or dust, etc.
The problem I have with this is that I lost it the first time out. A couple of times I happen to see it fall to the ground and put it back on…
I will get another one… I will likely put a spot of GE Silicone II (rubberized adhesive) under it to hold it in place. I don’t ever take flash photos anyway. The GE Silicone II can be purchased at any Hardware store in the USA and it will peel away completely leaving a clean hot shoe later.
